Victorian Tiles by Original Style
Geometric floor tiles are part of Britain's heritage and were used originally to ornament medieval churches and monasteries, and the homes of the aristocracy. Their popularity was enhanced during the Victorian era when they became part of the Romantic movement inspired by the Pre Raphealites hunger for nostalgia.
Made from coloured clays which are stained they are then pressed in to tiny shapes. Squares big and small, Triangles, Rectangles, Octagons, hexagons and trapeziums. They are complimented by small skirtings and stair nosings. These shapes can be assembled into thousands of varying designs including magnificent borders, and can be used to create up to date designs as well as period features.
Available in 18 different shapes and sizes, and 12 different colours
as well as hand painted motifs and tile freezes. There is plenty to keep you busy designing, or why not choose from some set designs shown below including border arrangements to frame the main area. Note that each design can be made in a variety of colours.
